WCSU University Service: 

Spring 2005 to present - CSU Faculty Research Conference Committee - The 2006 CSU Faculty Research Conference will celebrate research across the many divergent disciplines within the CSU System with paper presentations, posters, panel discussions, performances, demonstrations, and exhibits.

 Spring 2005 to present – West Café Task Force – Presidential task force co-chaired by Dr. Rick Bassett (Ancell School of Business) and Ms. Carolyn Lanier (Human Resources) to develop new models for West Café that will reach more colleagues in a more inclusive manner.

Fall 2004 to present – WEB Vista Faculty Team, WCSU Representative  – This team works closely with the Migration Team, the Communications Team and the Technical Team to:

  • Define process for faculty outreach

  • Manage faculty expectations

  • Meet with faculty groups to address questions/concerns they may have

  • Act as conduit for faculty concerns; escalate major issues to Project Manager

  • Track and monitor concerns; Report such in Executive Committee meetings

  • Recommend faculty/courses to be included in the Pilot

Fall 2004 to present – Western Research Day (WRD) Committee – Ancell representative – WRD is a university wide event that allows WCSU students to present their research. WRD was held on April 22, 2005 on the Midtown Campus.

Fall 2004 to present – University Senate, Senator for the MIS Department

Spring 2003 to Fall 2006 - WCSU Orientation Committee MIS Department representative. This committee normally meets once a month including the summer. The Orientation Program at Western Connecticut State University is designed to provide incoming students and their families with a set of common shared experiences, setting the tone for student academic success and personal growth. The Orientation committee is dedicated to facilitating the students’ transition to University life.

Fall 2001 to present - Ancell Undergraduate Curriculum Committee (AUCC) representative for the MIS Department. This committee normally meets once a month. 

The AUCC reviews all new courses, curriculum changes, etc., submitted by departments of the School prior to submission to Committee on Undergraduate Curriculum and Academic Standards.
